Formula 1 | Wolff wants to see Mercedes F1 ‘keep the pressure on’ on Red Bull and Ferrari

Wolff wants to see Mercedes F1

The second half of the 2022 season kicks off this weekend at Spa and Mercedes F1, which closed in on Red Bull and Ferrari just before the summer break, is hoping its progress will allow it to play for victory in some of the nine races remaining.

This is also the objective announced by Toto Wolff, the director of the German team, just before going to Belgium.

« We entered the break after a good run of races, and in Hungary we scored our highest points total of the season. Although we are not yet in the fight for victory, we are getting closer, we must therefore continue on our current momentum and maintain the pressure, » said the Austrian.

« The plant closure is an important time for the team to rest and spend time with family, whose support is invaluable throughout the year. There are few opportunities to do so. during the season and the race for development is unbreathable, so the break was well deserved for every member of the team. »

« We are ready for an intense second half of the season where we will have the opportunity to find improvements and hopefully challenge Red Bull and Ferrari for the wins. »

« Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps needs no introduction. It’s a classic track that has that ‘old school’ feel to it and has been the scene of iconic moments in F1 history. We are happy to be back there, I hope the Belgian fans will be treated to a great show. We will also be celebrating 55 years of Mercedes-AMG there, so there will be some fun activities. »
